I had acne for over 15 years and it was hard to go work or even school because I was so embarrassed about the way that my face looked. The kids in high school would make fun of me and it just made it a horrible childhood for me. I went to the dermatologist and after a couple of visits he prescribed me accutane. It worked pretty darn good. I was on it for 9 months taking 30 milligrams once a day and then doubled the dose to 30mg twice per day. This really cleared up my face. I haven’t had any other zits, or black heads or white heads since I have stopped using it. It also made my skin less oily. The side effects when I was on it were very dry skin eyes, inside my nose. I needed to constantly put on skin moisturizer and use eye drops to keep my eyes from being so dry. Once I stopped using it though the dry skin and eyes went away and I have been happy with the way my skin looks since I stopped. One other side effect I had was I felt a bit depressed but I always was depressed especially as a teenager so its hard to tell.
